Vetiver, despite sounding French, has its roots in the Tamil word "Vettiveru." It is a plant whose long roots are valued not only for their use in perfumery but also as a textile material. The essential oil, obtained from the distillation of these roots, has an amber color and originates from southern India. In the case of our Perris Monte Carlo Vetiver, we sought a truly unique olfactory experience. After testing the varieties from the Antilles, we traveled to the ancient Java, the largest island of the Sunda archipelago. Java retains a mysterious aura, perhaps enhanced by the proximity to large active volcanoes. The vetiver from Java does not reflect the clean simplicity of its closest relatives; on the contrary, it is spicy, smoky, and even has burnt touches, while presenting unexpected green, floral, and spicy nuances. Our Vetiver fragrance is ideal for those seeking charismatic and elegant notes: an intense and woody heart that opens into light floral notes.
