So, after adding animalic materials that went towards heavy or sweet or stable, I had to gradually remove them and arrive at this solution that suits me better: a leathery, slightly animalic, powdery, velvety, and elegant one. It goes with my personality and style, and when I finally realized this was my path, I finally felt happy and relieved. The name comes from a conversation with an artist and fragrance lover, who said it was as if the scent emanated from the skin. This concept of ‘Under My Skin’ reinforced my path of delving into something more subtly ‘human’ than openly ‘animal.’ The core of the fragrance is a combination of animalic and leathery notes tamed by iris butter (at 15% iron!). After working on this core, I worked on the base notes, composed of Tolu Balsam, Peru Balsam, Tonka Bean, and various types of woods.
