The creation of this perfume finds its inspiration in the figure of the Renaissance captain Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, a distinguished Italian condottiero of the Renaissance era and a member of the illustrious Medici family. I was deeply captivated by his stoic commitment to his cause, his loyalty, and his Spartan lifestyle, despite his noble lineage. This perfume seeks to transport the wearer to the atmosphere of a military camp, evoking the sweetness of wild bushes, the scent of campfire smoke, and the smell of horse leather studs. As the fragrance develops, it delves into the soul of this stern character, revealing the presence of a secret lover, represented by a powdery rose that softens the deep core of vetiver. I have not incorporated traditional animal notes, as the intensity of vetiver, along with the smoky nuances of leather, fully capture the desired essence. I aimed to combine the unyielding and human aspects of this fascinating character in a dark fragrance, evocative of the medieval period and conducive to reflection.
