Amber, the third fragrance that completes the triad along with Libertine Neroli and Unspoken Musk, is a series dedicated with special devotion to the noble essences of perfumery, reinterpreted according to the distinctive style of our house. Byzantine Amber is presented as a perfume of deep intensity and decadence, like a grandiose civilization slipping into the twilight of its splendor. Gustave Moreau's pictorial work 'Salome', in its majesty and drama, can impressively evoke the essence of this olfactory creation.
The exquisite mosaics that graced Byzantine civilization, such as those of Ravenna, boasted tesserae of dazzling gold that, over the course of time, became imperfect. This sense of theatrical and resplendent splendor, tinged with a dark and mysterious undertone, was the source of inspiration for Byzantine Amber. The geranium, with its fleshy character, pink, spicy and slightly green tones, creates a fascinating contrast with the dry minerality of ambergris and styrax.
The core of this composition rests on a familiar structure, an ambery accord enriched by the sensuality of cinnamon. This chord, warm and luminous, is enriched by leathery, smoky and animalic nuances, which bring intensity and distinction to the fragrance, defining it with its own character.
